General description : Vocation

Proud of its 50 years of experience in teaching French and hosting youth exchange programmes, the Centre Méditerranéen (CMEF), is not a profit motivated organisation, but rather one that complements the State Education system. Since its inception, this French Language and Civilisation School has welcomed more than 230 000 students of different nationalities. It is visited by more than 4 000 foreign youngsters and more than 300 teachers every year.

Location

At the heart of the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur), just at the doorstep of Monte Carlo, the Centre Méditerranéen is 15 Km away from both Nice and Italy and a short walk from the sea. Spread out over a mediterraneen garden that measures 3.5 hectares and overlooking the Mediterranean sea, The CMEF nests a theatre conceived and decorated by the celebrated artist and poet, Jean Cocteau to reflect classical ancient Greek themes

Accommodation

The CMEF offers new accommodation in rooms for 2 to 5 beds. Full or half board taken up at the centre includes generous meals composed of a wide range of dishes at our cafeteria. Our multi-lingual host team assures a wonderful stay at the Centre.

Acknowledgements

French cultural services world-wide as well as other major institutions such as OFAJ (Franco-German Office for Youth) have supported and promoted our programmes. Moreover, the Centre Méditerranéen is trusted by more than 100 schools and universities from all five continents, as well as many international specialists in the field of language and cultural stays in France.
