From 21 May to 24 September 2011, there will be a direct flight linking the UK to the Auvergne region of France. The route between Southampton and Clermont-Ferrand will be serviced by Flybe: the largest regional airline in Europe and the leading domestic carrier in the UK.

Southampton Airport is easily accessible from London: 2 to 4 trains per hour from Waterloo Station, with a journey time of just 70 minutes. Southampton Airport’s location in the south of England makes it easy for tourists from Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham and Manchester etc. to get to the capital of the Auvergne region.
More than 2000 British visitors are expected to make the trip to Clermont-Ferrand, bringing in an estimated revenue of 1 million Euros. The opening of this link will not only make travel to Auvergne easier for tourists, but also for British business people. It will enable them to discover the many attractions of the region.
