“Africolor” Festival (Ile de France) will take place from 13 November to 20 December 2009.
More than 18 towns in Seine Saint-Denis will spend a month enraptured by the African rhythms of this festival. This year, there are 25 concerts of African music, featuring performers hailing from the shores of the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean, as well as the Caribbean and black Americas. The concerts will boast 43 different groups from several continents.
One special guest will be the singer Nahawa Doumbia, a pioneer of the first festival in 1989, who will be present for the Christmas concert on 24 December at the Maison de la Culture de Bobigny [Bobigny Cultural Centre].
