The town of Colmar, with its quaint alleys that have been maintained since the Middle Ages, is home to the famous Unterlinden Museum. This former 13th century monastery offers visitors all the richness and diversity of Rhenish art from the Middle Ages through the Renaissance.
Although completely renovated, modernized, and immaculate, Colmar is also a place where history is literally written on the walls and music fills the streets. Surrounding the old town center are the original city walls, forming a kind of open-air museum inscribed with Alsace’s history.
