At the foot the wooded slopes of the Vosges, dominated by mysterious châteaux, Alsace reveals its prettiest wine-making villages. Protected by boundary walls that shelter friendly inns with antique signs and unique houses clustered around the church tower, they will charm all who take the time to stop there.
Stretching over more than 170 km, the Alsace wine route winds north to south across hills covered with vineyards. Vineyard walks, “winstubs” and wine tastings in cool, welcoming cellars invite you to discover the seven Alsatian grape varieties, rich in the aromatic nuances of the earth from which they come : Syvaner, Pinot blanc, Riesling, Muscat d’Alsace, Tokay Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Pinot noir. |
